On 5th December a scrabble tournament took place between students from 'scrabble club' and Age Concern of East Grinstead. Despite the boys best efforts they lost the tournament 14-13, although they are very much looking forward to a rematch at the beginning of February.

As part of the Year 12 English Literature course on the First World War, a group of students attended the Imperial War Museum, London on the 11th of November.

Congratulations to R. White of Year 11 who has just been selected as one of the 30 best students of Spanish in the country.

The annual Art Trip to London’s Tate Britain and Modern was once again a huge success. Thirty eight students from Year 12 and 13, A-level Art and Applied Art and Design spent two hours in the Tate Britain researching artists now heavily influencing their coursework back in school.

On Wednesday 12th November, Year 10 and 11 GCSE Dance students went to see Rambert Dance Company's production of ‘Eternal Light’, a new work currently on show at the Saddler’s Wells Theatre, London. The Rambert is a contemporary dance company with strong links to classical ballet.

Year 12 Travel and Tourism students have been investigating two tourist attractions in the south-east to compare and contrast how they operate. The proximity of Wakehurst Place provided an extremely convenient and popular case study.

Over the autumn term, Year 13 Travel and Tourism students have been investigating Adventure Tourism. They were required to plan and participate in an adventure tourism activity of their choice.

In September, Year 10 Leisure & Tourism students visited Legoland Theme Park in Windsor as part of their unit on Customer Service.

In September, Year 11 Leisure & Tourism students travelled by coach to Cadbury World in Birmingham. The visit formed the basis of the student’s coursework on marketing.

On Monday 8th September 2008, Year 12 students visited a very muddy Blacklands Farm Activity Centre for the day. Students were put through their paces over a number of different challenges, which aimed to build connections and a sense of teamwork amongst the students.
