On Wednesday the 23rd April Imberhorne School’s AS Theatre Studies Groups arrived at their school nervous but excited, ready to perform in their practical assessment. The practical exam makes up 40% of the AS grade and is the result of over four months of the students’ hard work and dedication.
Sixth Form students from Imberhorne and Sackville Schools who are studying Health & Social Care, recently attended a conference in which they took part in workshops put on by healthcare professionals.
On Wednesday 12th November, Year 10 and 11 GCSE Dance students went to see Rambert Dance Company's production of "Eternal Light", a new work currently on show at the Saddler's Wells Theatre, London. The Rambert is a contemporary dance company with strong links to classical ballet.
To link in with the Olympics scheme of work, Year 9 went to Docklands in September to see how it has transformed over the years and to reflect on how the Olympics coming to London might lead to further changes in East London.
With some regular team members forced to withdraw due to other academic commitments, S. Ringwood made an excellent debut for the school team and the exceptional fitness of all showed as they played high quality netball throughout, with no substitutes.
On Tuesday 4th March we had a visit from a Mali cotton producer as part of East Grinstead’s Fairtrade fortnight. Makandianfing Keita met with 30 Lower School students for a presentation followed by a Question and Answer session.
The results of the January District Cross Country trials held at Oriel School are: J. Brown 9th place, B. Caiger and Matt Burroughs, G. Rothery 20th place, D. Gardner 3rd place and P. McManus 20th place. C. Carey 46th place, G. Robinson 27th place, A. Hopkins 14th place, J. Craven 50th place, C.
The first Musician of the Year competition for KS4 was held at Imberhorne Lane on Monday 28th January. The competition was extremely fierce and we had a large number of competitors. These ranged from string and woodwind players to guitarists, singers and a drummer.
