Key Stage 3 Musician of the Year Concert 2015
The hall at Windmill Lane was transformed into a musical concert hall on the evening of 4th June. The stage played host to such an abundance of young talent who all overcame the nervous task of performing in front of not only their families but to many of their peers who turned up to support them.
Miss Barwell, Head of Music, congratulated all the performers both in the instrumental and vocal categories. She said that the judges' task of choosing their top three from each category had been extremely challenging and that really everyone who performed deserved very high praise indeed.
Thanks go to all the Year 10 music leaders who helped their younger fellow students throughout the preparation for the evening and during the concert itself. A fine example of how our students show compassion and support for each other across the school years.
Winners on the night were as follows:
Instrumental Performances: Key Stage 3 Instrumentalist of the Year 2015 Sally Kilfiger - Violin, 2nd place - Tara Mahy - Piano, 3rd place - Reg White - Guitar.
Vocal Performances: Key Stage 3 Vocalist of the Year 2015 Tara Mahy - ‘On My Own’ Les Miserables, 2nd place - Max Holden - ‘Half the World Away’ Oasis, 3rd place - Molly Hall - ‘The Wizard and I’ Wicked.
