At the start of November we launched a school campaign, highlighted to us by two students, to contribute towards the target that no child in West Sussex Care be without an advent calendar this Christmas. Budget constraints meant that West Sussex funds were not available to meet the cost of these extra treats for 2018. We hoped that Imberhorne could get behind this campaign when we launched it and....wow was it successful.
A phenomenal 700 calendars were donated by families and friends of Imberhorne School by 23rd November. These have been added to the other 2300 collected across the county! Enough for all the children in all care settings in West Sussex AND all children who access West Sussex services such as 'Young Carers'.
Thank you to Dylan (Y7) and Joe (Y9) Ovenden, who took the campaign idea to Mr Langstone.  Without their vision, 700 young people may have missed out this Christmas. Student and community generosity never fails to impress us.
