Year 7 rugby v Holy Trinity
The Year 7 rugby team won on 14 October 2009, 24-12 against Holy Trinity from Crawley in the 1st round of the County Cup. We had seven boys making their Imberhorne debuts and what a way to win! They performed brilliantly and worked very hard throughout the game by learning from their mistakes early on and pressurizing their opponents with some fantastic tackling from Harry Parks, Jacob Poulter and Ryan Clancy. The backs made some excellent runs which were unstoppable, with tries coming from Ryan Spivey, Zac Hobday and Matt Turner. Jamie Wilkinson linked up the play nicely between forwards and backs with his scrum half position. The power forwards of Aidan Oxley-Shaw, Matt Lower, Alex Leonidas, Dom Englebright, Jack Parsons, George Willie and Jack Dean ensured we won many scrums and applied plenty of pressure on the opposition by gaining territory. Matt Winter at full back ensured no one got over the try line easily and made some last ditch tackles to keep the Holy Trinity score down. This was a great all round performance from everyone, especially with seven new players. Well Done!Mr D. Celani
