The Year 7 football team narrowly lost last night to The Weald School in the 2nd round of the County Cup after a dramatic game and a penalty shootout.After a bright start by Imberhorne, The Weald began to dominate the game with some good play and great individual skills. A few wrong decisions by players lead to The Weald taking a 2-0 lead at half time. In the second half after some substitutions and Imberhorne’s superior fitness, we got a goal back through A. Jakeman. With the last kick of the game we equalized (through L. Pearce).Extra time meant another poor clearance from the defence and another goal to The Weald. Again with the last kick of extra time, Imberhorne equalized through R. Lentz to send the game to penalties! Unfortunately we lost 3-1.A never-say-die attitude from Imberhorne was pleasing to see with some good passing play. An unlucky outcome to an entertaining gameMr D. Celani
