Year 7 boys, Seven Aside Rugby Sussex Schools Finals 2009
Venue: Worthing RFCHopes were high after our recent success in the district 7-a-side finals but the opposition at the Sussex finals was always going to be much tougher. The 1st game we played was a hard fought win against Dorothy Stringer followed by a very tough encounter with Beacon Sports College. After four games Imberhorne were unbeaten, but so too were Warden Park and a ‘mouth-watering final was served up’. The game started close with both sides playing physical rugby - eventually the speed and creativity of the Imberhorne backs cut Warden Park open for the opening try. Unfortunately for us, Warden Park scored just before half time to level the scores. A rousing speech that Martin Johnson would have been proud of from coach Mr Byrne and Assistant coach Mr Marshall put fire into the bellies of the boys and they went on to score five trys without conceding any more!
