WHISPS – Friday 14th November 2008
WHISPS is a collaboration of five schools in the local area; Worth, Hazelwick, Imberhorne, St. Pauls and Sackville. Each of the schools perform their own programme of music, and the evening ends in a joint performance which brings all the instrumentalists and choral singers together. Every year we perform at Worth Abbey and there are donations collected at the end for a specific charity. This year’s charity was Hurstwood Park Neurological Centre in Haywards Heath. There is always great support for WHISPS and this year was no exception. Imberhorne students performed Nightrain and Satin Doll with the Imberhorne Jazz Band. These proved to be very popular with the audience. There was also a joint performance of Pirates of the Caribbean in which all five schools had students participating in.The students who participate in WHISPS always enjoy it. A. Hale says: "I really look forward to playing at WHISPS. This year was great and I really liked listening to the performance of ‘Stabat Matar’ at the end of the concert." Thank you to all the students that took part. A great concert enjoyed by all.By K. Hardisty, Year 12 Music student
