This year, students have had the opportunity to vote in the West Sussex Youth Cabinet and UK Youth Parliament Elections 2015.

The UK Youth Parliament is a national group of 600 young people, aged 11-18, from England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.  It was formed in 1999 and has the full support of both the elected government and opposition parties.  The Youth Parliament run campaigns for young people on issues like concessionary travel, university fees and recycling.  They meet annually in the House of Commons.  Four members of the West Sussex Youth Cabinet will represent our area in the Youth Parliament.

The West Sussex Youth Cabinet is a countywide group of 48 young people with two people per locality elected to represent their area.  Meetings are held every month in County Hall, Chichester, where issues such as SRE, disability awareness and transport are discussed and projects produced.

Alfie Cooke, a Year 12 student, has stood as a candidate in both the Youth Cabinet and Youth Parliament elections this year.  Results will be available on www.yourspacewestsussex.co.uk very early in April.
