Windmill Lane was buzzing with the excitement of our annual Careers Networking event on Tuesday 24th January. Year 9 students inquisitively posed questions and took guesses at the occupations of our visiting volunteers. In groups, they worked together to establish the job role and then heard about our volunteer's pathway through their career.

We were overwhelmed by the support of local professionals for this event. The morning aims to broaden our students' understanding of the job market. It is important that young people start to think about the skills and interests they have that might lead them down a natural career path for them Or it may confirm for them what they are definitely not interested in! Either way, the more we can provide opportunities for meaningful career discussions, the better.
