Senior Maths Competition
On 4th November our best Sixth Form mathematics students attempted the Senior Mathematics Challenge. This is a 90 minute test with some very challenging questions. Some 96,000 students from across the UK also take part in this competition. An example question, “What is the smallest prime number that is equal to the sum of two prime numbers and is also equal to the sum of three different prime numbers?”.We’re very pleased with all the students who were brave enough to take part in the challenge – in particular, the following students: From Year 13 Alistair Jones and Alexandra Harris achieved a Gold certificate, Alex Boot a Silver, Martin Dawson, David Chitty, Sofie Zaire and Andrew Spivey a Bronze. In Year 12 a Silver went to Philip Barber, and Bronze to Josie Trotter, Andrew Herrett and Adam Davis.Mr P. Hall
