'Scratch' Competition Winners 2015
Congratulations to Lucy Gillam, Jessica Haynes, Patricia Glassborow and Annelise Furniss all in Year 8 for winning the Thales Computer Game Design Competition for schools. Earlier this year Thales, the electrical systems design company in Crawley, ran a competition for Imberhorne and several other local schools. The brief was to design a computer game using software called ‘Scratch’. Our then Year 7 students set about the task of inventing, designing and producing their games, in teams over several of their Computing lessons.
We are thrilled to share that this group of girls won the competition with their game entitled ‘Rainbow Witch’. An inspired game, where players have to drop coloured potions into cauldrons as their witch flies about. Representatives from Thales came into the Year 8 assembly on October 15th to present the winning team of girls with certificates and prizes. A fabulous Raspberry Pi computer each! They will further be invited for a guided tour of the Thales site some time in November.
