Double wins for KS3 football teams v. Sackville
Year 8 football team beat Sackville 2-1 on the same day the B team won 9-0 against them! Two good sides played each other with Imberhorne wanted ‘revenge’ for last year’s one-nil defeat, despite being the better footballing side.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> This year began much the same. Imberhorne played good passing football but were undone by a moment of poor marking which let in their striker to smash the ball past our keeper S. Jackson. The score stayed the same until early into the second half. A few substitutions were made and the two Year 7 boys introduced (T. West and G. Cartwright started to make a real impact together when going forward. This released Oscar Weddell more upfront and he made the difference by scoring a poacher’s goal in the box for the first goal - then running free of his marker to slot the second under the keeper. Imberhorne defended better in the second half and the midfield boys worked tirelessly throughout the game to ensure both teams won on the night. A deserved victory. Well done boys.
