Class of 2018
Our Year 11 students celebrated with a wonderful graduation ceremony at the Effingham Hotel on Wednesday 2nd May. Throughout the Spring term, our students, who are about to sit their GCSE exams, have been compiling their ‘Record of Achievement’ folders.
The presentation folders showcase the many activities that students have been involved in, both inside of school and out in the wider community. Everything from the sports teams they have played in to the charity work they volunteer for. Students have also been working towards a strict set of behaviour and attendance criteria which challenges our students to further acknowledge the relationship between attitude and effort - bringing reward and success.
We were delighted to see so many students ‘graduate’ and the rate at which they were striving for ‘merit’ and ‘distinction’, the higher levels on offer. Chair of Governors, Bob Darvill shook the hand of each and every student as he handed them their certificate on stage in front of an audience of over 600! Parents and Carers joined us for what was a truly fabulous evening, with special guest appearances from our Year 11 Musician of the Year winners, Georgie Pullen, Kiara Stott and Joanna Maclachlan. Thank you to all our parents for being so supportive of our school and for the guidance and nurture they provide in the valuable partnership between home and school.
