Hayes school 15 : 45 Imberhorne

The year 8 boys travelled to Hayes for their 1st fixture of the year, against a school that beat us last season. Seb M captained a side that included the returning Alex H-S, who missed most of last season and he looked like he wanted to make amends, playing in the second row. He carried the ball well into contact, created more line breaks than any other player, tackled well and was rewarded with 2 tries and the man of the match award. Our backs tried to play expansive rugby, the forwards put a shift in, but we looked a little rusty – with a little hard work at training, I’m sure these boys will be in a good position to take on Sackville at the Friday Nights Lights event on the 26th September.
