On 16th January we were lucky enough to have Richard Robinson from the Brighton Science Festival visit Imberhorne to run a workshop with our gifted, talented and passionate Scientists in Year 9. The workshop, entitled ‘The Big Machine’, is a physics project that required our keen students to think about core physics principles - momentum, levels, the transfer of energy, etc.Working in small groups, they had a range of equipment and had to build a small machine that would ‘activate’ the machines on other tables to get a chain reaction going – the end result, making a clown smile! The students worked so well and so enthusiastically, they were a credit to our school and we are very grateful to Richard Robinson for his input.
